If you put an IR transmitting device in front of some TV sets (or stereos,
etc) whose led blinks when you use the remote controller, sometimes the
led blinks.

If you know someone with a IR Palm, there is a program at palmgear.com
which shows a graph os the intensity of the received IR beam. Could use
that too.

Just some ideas.

But I read in a page regarding LEDs that it is very difficult for them to
break. So I don't know.
