Hi,
I managed this, but no longer have a 600e. Have you enabled the IR-port
in the bios ? This has to be done with a dos program; when I got my
machine the ir port was disabled. Once that is done you should be able to
use the standard instructions for SIR. At the time I didn't know enough
(I hadn't been reading this list 8-) so never looked at getting FIR
working.
If you look back through the archives of this list you should be able to
find a message I sent a while back with instructions on where to get the
dos program, and a possible linux program, to activate your ir port.
