Hi,
finally I got another notebook to test IRDAon linux, and hey it did work
almost at once.
The linux host (host1) is a Acer TM517TE using PC´338 and the Sharp
dongle. After some
time I even got FIR running (HINT don´t let the kernel grab the serial
line or only SIR
will work).
The problem is a different speed depending on communication direction.
The other host (host2) is a Gericom Webboy with yet unknown IR hardware
ruuning
Windows ME.
If I send data from host2 to host1 I get full FIR speed.
If I send data from host1 to host2 I get SIR speed only.
Reading the FAQ and parts of the mail archive gave me no clue.

Can anyone help?

Uli

BTW: I see exactly the same problem if host1 is running Win98 instead of
linux
