Last year I spent rather a long time, with much appreciated help from the list, trying to get irda to work on my vaio pcg-c1xn...that was with RH6.2...i've just done a claen install of RH7, and it now seems much loster to working (ie irdadump now shows that the pc is talking to my phone!) in /etc/modules.conf i have: alias irda0 nsc-ircc alias char-major-160 irda0 alias char-major-161 ircomm-tty options nsc-ircc dongle_id=0x09 io=0x3e8,0x3e8,0x3e8,0x3e8 irq=10,10,10,10 and an irattach irda0 -s seems all that is needed to get sensible stuff in irdadump when my nokia 6210 is in range... now all i need to know is how to configure it for PPP...i've seen a lot of example scripts out there, but i'm wondering what the 'Red Hat' way of doing this is? It seems a shame not to use their gtk-stylee dialer and config tools, but i can't get that to work...am i right in thinking that the 'modem' devide is /dev/ircomm0, or is that a really simple mistake? if that IS right, what am i doing wrong? the RH tolols complain that they cant initialise the modem... anyone had any luck with RH7? care to share? thnx _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
