I've recently started trying to get up to speed on infrared issues. Hoping someone can help with a specific problem and a more general issue as well. 1) I have a PC-to-IR Linc device (X10 code = 1623PC). Works perfectly from a windows box (using the software that comes bundled with the device). I'd very much like to be able to control this device from linux, and am hoping there is already support. However, a perusal of www.lirc.org and mobilix.org does not appear to have any references to this device. Any pointers? 2) The various IR-related webpages seem to focus on low-level issues and don't give an high-level view of the issue. Read: I have really simply questions and can't seem to find answers :-) What hardware do I need in order to use the lirc library to send and receive arbitrary IR signals from a computer?
