Hi!

I suggest you read up on last month mail archive.. There was a LONG thread on T39 
issues..
The main problem seems to be in a speed called MIR.
Have you tried you only SIR speed? 
In wich you use the irtty driver instead of the one for your specific chip.
Anyway I really suggest you read up in the maillist archives...
