Directly from the sony europe site. In the "members"-area under
downloads for Windows 2000. The bios is especially for the
installation of W2k. But be careful! The bios update utility is pretty
automatic and makes no backup of your old bios. :-( But there are some
command switches to backup the bios first. If you make a backup of
your bios I will be very interested in this backup as unfortunately I
have none. (my old version was R0206H0/RK206H0 - sony n505x). And the
sony support center accused me that I am doing things not supported by
sony (like updating my bios, running linux, ...) and so I won't get my
old bios from sony.

The new bios has a bad feature with linux. Before my update to w2k06h0
Fn-F4 and Fn-F5 worked great, now they lead to an immediate system
crash :-(. All other features (like suspend, ...) work for me.
Fortunately there is a setbrightness-tool which works.

I would be very interested in your experiences.

Good luck
 Peter
