I've been able to make irda work on the satellite 3000-214 with smc-ircc module and kernel 2.4.16. I'm not sure whether I was using it as a SIR or FIR device but at module insertion, the chip is detected with relevant ioport/irq/dma, and irdadump works. Maybe you use some utility like setserial that make you port unavailable by dfault as it did here ; but leaving ttyS0 free should allow you to use irda. -- Stef _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
