I enabled irda debug option and found this:

armada:~# cat /proc/kmsg
<6>IrDA: Registered device irda0
<6>IrCOMM protocol (Dag Brattli)
<7>irlap_change_speed(), setting speed to 115200
<7>irlmp_state_dtr(), Unknown event LM_LAP_CONNECT_CONFIRM
<7>Framing or parity error!
<7>Framing or parity error!

<7>Framing or parity error!
<7>Framing or parity error!
<7>Framing or parity error!

<7>Framing or parity error!
<7>Framing or parity error!
<6>IrLAP, no activity on link!
<7>Framing or parity error!
<7>Framing or parity error!

(^-- that kind of messages repeated 1-2 times in every 5 second)

<7>irlap_change_speed(), setting speed to 9600
<7>ircomm_tty_state_ready(), hanging up!
<7>ircomm_tty_hangup()
<7>ircomm_tty_shutdown()
<7>ircomm_tty_detach_cable()
<7>ircomm_close()

What I did during above output, was loading irda module and using ppp
connection until it broke (after ~3 minutes).

I'm just wondering what are those "framing or parity error" and "no activity
on link" messages? Something seems to be really broken in my system.

By the way, where can be found the syntax of those mysterious lines....?

Thanks for any help.

PS. I'm using SIR-mode, ircomm-tty driver and 2.4.19-pre6 kernel.
