I am not sure that you have the same problem as I did.  I am eventually trying to get 
a ppp connection over IrDA.  Anyway, check the reply Jean sent yesterday to my 
original post.  There is a discovery fix at 
<http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/IrDA/ir257_discovery_fixes.diff> that 
I applied to 2.4.16 on the non-zaurus end of my link and things work much better.  I 
still have occasional problems getting connected but it is not the same problem.
