I'm having problems with configuring SIR mode on a Toshiba 3010CT
(using 2.2.13 kernel with irda patch 7, and irda-utils 0.9.5, on a
base RH6.1 system). dmesg isn't giving a ttyS? virtual serial port
for IR. Using the toshoboe module and "ifconfig irda0 up" can get
this log message:

ToshOboe: Found 701 chip at 0xffc0 irq 11

and with irmanager get the S25 discovered in
/proc/net/irda/discovery. I have this in /etc/conf.modules:

  alias char-major-161 ircomm-tty
  alias tty-ldisc-11 irtty

And load in ircomm-tty, etc. without problems (but
/proc/net/irda/ircomm just says "Instance 0:").

However I can't seem to find out (or understand) the correct call with
irattach (as I don't seem to have a ttyS? for ir) so that I can use
gsmlib and ppp. Or can these use the FIR mode directly -- and how?

I have these devices setup:

crw-r--r-- 1 root root 161, 0 Nov 28 17:45 /dev/ircomm0
crw-r--r-- 1 root root 161, 1 Nov 28 17:45 /dev/ircomm1

Thanks,

-David.
