Hello All,

I have suddenly started getting some wierd messages like the one included in
the subject in my syslog when starting irattach.

The setup used to work for me (after lots of help from different guys),
but.....anyways. I tried to upgrade to the latest IrDA-patches but with the
same result.

My config is linux-2.2.13 w. patch-2.2.13-irda12 on an IBM ThinkPad 390. I use
irattach from irda-utils 0.9.5.

My IrDA-port is the first serial port and is recognized upon bootup:

        ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
        ttyS02 at 0x03e8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

I use:

        irattach /dev/ttyS0 -s 1

Which in /var/adm/messages yields:

Dec 21 15:30:33 laptoy irattach: Serial connection established.

and in /var/adm/syslog yields:

Dec 21 15:30:33 laptoy irattach: tcsetattr: Input/output error

I am not sure if this is of any help, but I tired (sucessfully) from home. Then
I left it be for a while (I am not aware of having done anything mysterious
since it worked) and was yesterday to go on a rather long trip by train. Hence
I tried to connect using my Ericsson SH888 - with no luck. Well arrived at an
ethernet jack, I downloaded the latest IrDA-patch, recompiled and decided to go
from there. Still no luck. I have been looking around the mailing list, and it
seems that others have experienced the same problems when using different
"dongles". However I did not find any explanation on what was the problem or
what would be the cure.

I'll be on the road quite a lot for the rest of this month and most of the next
month, so I'd prefer to have it running. Thus *any* help , hints or clues will
be most apprecuated.

Thanks in advance.
