Works fine for me after some fighting with wvdial to make it use ircomm0
instead of ttyS<x>. Not so intelligent dialer after all ;-) Anyway this
config worked fine for me:

[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ircomm0
Baud = 57600
Init = ATZ
Phone = <phone>
Username = <name>
Password = <passwd>

Maybe your Init2 string makes the phone confused?
