Yes, all Nokia 61XX (&110, 6120, 6150) don't have a real modem, they
just have a kind of sound processor which gets input from the PC and
outputs it to the telephon line (which is the GSM connection). They
don't have a real modem which gets AT commands as input and do the rest
for themself.
