If you attach an external dongle to the NSC card, then it's a dongle, for laptops
we usually say it's just a transceiver. All dongles contains transceivers with some
wiring etc. The hardware manual of the NSC chip talks about dongles, so that
is the reason for the naming. It's not possible to check if it's a dongle or just a
transceiver which is attached to the chip anyway.
The dongle config is ment for serial port dongles and not for chip specific dongles
