Hello,
My phone is Ericsson I888 (same as SH888, only with US band).
I have tried kernels from 2.2.10-2.2.17pre5 and 2.3.9x and 2.4.xpre.
the phone worked best on 2.2.13 (that uses the old IRDA stack), it worked with any
hacking on the kernel
side, but still many problems. But after 2.2.13-> it stopped to work, but i fixed that
thru hacking irtty.c
and disabling speeds over 9600bps, that helps little bit. Without doing this the irda
finds my phone, but
when i try to connect to trhe phone via minicom etc. it just stops working and the
phone disappers.
So with this hack you can use it, but it's sloooow and the phone hangs quite often
(only way to fix this is to restart
the phone by powering it off, so very annoying).
And it seems that the irtty driver gets worse after every kernel upgrade. I'd use
2.2.13, but the kernel it self has
so many bugs...

ps. best platform to use SH888/I888 seems to be SuSE 6.3 with default 2.2.13-SuSE
kernel.
