Hello ALL I am trying to connect my Palm to the notebook via IR port I hav read IR-HOWTO but still have problems. This was my first experience with IR at all so I started with windows. It turns out that Windows is willing to communicate with IR devices over COM4, and my BIOS can be set to COM4 (port 2e8 irq 11) I configured things this way and was able to make HotSync with Palm's soft for windows choosing COM4 just as did it with a cable over COM1. Then tryed to do the same with linux. Linux software (pilot-xfer) worked fine with ttyS0. I configured ttyS3 as port 2e8 irq 11 (manualy, but autoconfig does the same) But I linux soft just wait on ttyS3 while I tried to start transfer. If I cat /dev/ttyS3 instead of running pilot-xfer I saw some regular garbage. I don't know if I need irmanager and irattach but I tried them too. I use /dev/ircomm0 but it didn't help. There even no garbage in it. But I saw "serial connection established" in the log after I started irmanager and irattach.
