What is the more simple way to make a PPP connection over Irda with a 5Mx Psion ?
1) I have a HP IR interface connected on an Asus motherboard P2b
2) Mandrake 7.1 with 2.2.15-4mdk kernel
3) This configuration works fine under windows, with DSlink shareware (Tc/Ip
connection thru Irda)
4) with "irmanager -d 1" in rc.local, I can use irpsion without any problem.
5) with a serial link, i used "pppd call Psion", and it works fine too.
noauth /dev/ttyS1 115200
crtscts lock passive persist silent
local proxyarp
netmask 255.255.255.0
192.168.0.1:192.168.0.3
6) I put in /etc/conf.modules (depmode -a)
alias tty-ldisc-11 irtty #
alias char-major-161 ircomm_tty
7) I've created /dev/irnine

I do :
[root@machine stef]# insmod ircomm
Using /lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/net/ircomm.o
[root@machine stef]# insmod ircomm-tty
Using /lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/ircomm-tty.o
[root@machine stef]# pppd call Psion
....
But no connection
I read the last Howto... but..
Where are my errors... i've search in /dev there isn't any
/dev/ircomm0 or
/dev/ircomm1 only /dev/irnine, i've created.
I'm not a pro in Shakespeare langage, so.. I need help
