I am still struggling with IrDA on my Sony laptop and I am wondering if
someone could shed some light on my problem.
Can anyone confirm that the IrDA source included with 2.2.17 works?
Will I have to go to a 2.4 and use a new patch? Is there a back port of the
patch to 2.2?
I have this feeling it's something else. When linux loads on the machine,
the hardware com port is detected with a 16550A UART and the IrDA port is
detected with an 8250. I have used setserial to force the port to IRQ 10
with a 16550, but still no discovery of IR devices.
The machine is dual-booting with Windows 2000 and IrDA works fine with it
after installing the third-party IRCOMM driver. So I am positive my hardware
is good.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
