I really need some help. Been trying for a while.
I have a Asus l8400 with a NSC,PC87338,11.2,0x398,0x2f8,0x2f8,3,3,1,0,1
according to findchip.

The serial driver finds it as ttyS1.
The NSC driver won't load since the serial driver got there first.
But since I will use it to connect my cell phone I thought it won't
matter.

I compiled 2.2.18, the latest patch won't compile (gcc 2.95.2)

>From what I understood from the docs all I should have to do after making
the dev nodes and adding to modules.conf was :
modpobe ircomm-tty
irttatch /dev/ttyS1 -s

Running minicom on /dev/ircomm0 does not seem to do anything..
Stays offline. My cell phone is a nokia 8210, which is supposed to have a
"good ir port".

Have I gone blind and missed something obvious ?

I have tried some different settings in bios for the ir port. setting it
to SIR and so on..
