Hi,

Trying to get the buildin modem pf the S35 to talk to my laptop. No
success after a few days :(

System :

kernel 2.2.18
irda-utils version 0.9.13

relevant dmesg output :

Serial driver version 4.27 with no serial options enabled
kernel: ttyS00 at 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
kernel: ttyS01 at 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
kernel: ttyS02 at 0x3e8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

ttyS00 is verified to be the external port
ttyS01 is verified to be the internal modem
ttyS02 is unknown. Probably IrDA

findchip -v is silent

Actions taken :

insmod irda
insmod irport io=0x3e8 irq=4 (strange value, 4. Most I've seen is 10 /
11)

After that start minicom at 9600 baud

Any hints / tips on how to debug this beast ? The GSM is the only IrDA
device I have, so I can't debug with something else.

I have a syslog file created from doing echo 4 > /proc/sys/net/irda debug
after the insmod irda. I can't make anything of it..

        Regards,

                Igmar
