Hi, Thanks for all who suggested solutions for my kisdn pbm. In fact the /etc/pap-secrets and etc/chap-secrets were properly configured. The problem was that "encrypted password" box was ticked causing the "no PAP secret entry for this user". At the same time I upgraded the isdn4linux-utils (from Mandrake 6.1) to the last version in the "cooker" tree (isdn4k-utils-3_1b1-2mdk_i586.rpm). The file has to contain the username and password you need to connect to your ISP: mylogin * mypassword (example: echo "mylogin * mypassword" > /etc/ppp/pap-secrets) The * is for the name of the remote peer your are loging into. As this machine differs from login to login you can use * instead of the explicit name. I had the same troubles using Mandrake6.1 it everything worked fine as soon as I created that file. This could be understood if that ipppd dumped more informations to syslog (I enabled 'debug' and 'kdebug 7' for ipppd but it still doesnt show me the whole LCP, IPCP, CCP (protocols used between 2 PPP-Peers) as pppd did.) Bye
