So, I just mounted my Karma, and uploaded an album using riocp.

My first impressions are essentially feelings of love towards you all. Thanks
for that.

I have a few questions, which could perhaps go towards a FAQ or HOWTO in the
future.

Once I've unmounted the device, am I fine to unplug it? That's what I did,
but as it still said "Communicating" on the Karma I felt somwhat uneasy about
the whole affair.

I tried "karma_helper -l" before unplugging, without being really sure what
its purpose was, first as a regular user, and was promptly informed I didn't
have appropriate permissions. I then tried as root, but was merely told
"user.c: Device or resource busy", despite it being unmounted.

Also, the Karma only seems to be detected about 1/3 to 1/2 of the time as a
/dev/sda type device. The rest of the time it just informs me in
/var/log/messages that a new usb device has been plugged in, and goes no
further. Presumably this is to do with the timeout in the kernel code which
was discussed a little while ago.

So overall, I'm very very pleased that you've resurrected my ability to
transfer music to/from the karma, and have big smiles for you all.

I'll give LKarmaFS a go soon, probably tomorrow.
