Not really a dependency.  Just use it if it is found.

The standard way is to use a specific socket (or device).  I
don't see much policy.  Just the path of a socket such as
/var/run/rkd or /dev/rkd.

This can be independent of libkarma.  Libkarma may use it or not, 
and that can be decided at run time.

I tend to agree with you in this point, but I am still a bit
unhappy with (USB/OMFS-)lkarmafs.  As Keith pointed aout some
time ago, it would be a nice option for lkarmafs to allow working
with essentially an unbound and unmounted interface and just do
the bind and mount when necessary.  This could even permit having 
the RK accessible at the same time through both the net and the 
usb interfaces.

I don't find a clean way to achive this without putting some of
the functionality in libkarma proper.  But if you have some
ideas, I'd be happy to hear....
