I tried the amarok plugin tonight, unfortunately not successfully.  
Perhaps you can help me out.

First, it would be nice if you just had one patch that adds everything.
Copying stuff around manually is a bit of a pain.  If you haven't
used it before, I recommend using "quilt" to maintain the patch; I've 
only recently started using it and it makes generating and keeping track
of patches a cakewalk.

Now then, after I built amarok with the Karma patch, and run amarok,
everything works up until the point where I configure the Karma.  I go
to the property screen, select Rio Karma, type in the mountpoint (e.g.
/mnt/tmp) and the name, then click OK, and amarok immediately proceeds
to suck up all memory and eventually die when the kernel hits it with
the OOM killer.  My Karma has about 3500 songs on it.

Sorry I don't have a better clue than that but I thought I'd mention it
in case you've seen that already and know a fix.  I can try to track it
down further if you like.
