I'm not aware of such an issue.  The clients will generally rebuild the
database only after everything has been transferred; are you getting any
errors before the transfer completes that would keep that from running?  

Note you can rescan music using riocp as mentioned in the howto:

    $ ./riocp -b

This is a lot faster than doing it on the Karma itself.
