In my tests with the vanilla libkarma-0.0.6(hg123) I did not find the troubles you are mentioning. The only changes form hg123 to hg125 are the inclusion of some playlist calls in karama.h (which seem completely unrelated with these troubles) and Franky's patch, which is supposed to fix a bug very closely related with the troubles).
