that doesnt really work for me.  if we're taking the position of "when
a part goes EOL, ADI no longer supports it", then it seems to me that
customers are going to pick other people who support the software
stack longer than the life of the part.

i'm pretty sure mainline updated the codec driver already for us.  it
was just the transport layer that needed updating because of our
incomplete SPORT reorganization.  the transport layer (SPORT) should
be handled by us because it is specific to Blackfin parts.
