Hi folks,
I have $ 3000 to spend, and I think I will use them to buy a nice
notebook to run linux on.
Besides the cost, my constraints are:
- 14'' display (at least)
- P II proc.
- removable hard drive
- 'good' keyboard (i.e. not a too poor case)
I'm considering buying one of them:
- Gateway Solo 9100 (LS, SE, cannot see the difference)
- NEC Versa SX
- HP Omnibook 4100 (but maybe too expensive for my budget)
- Dell Inspiron (but I'm not sure they have removable HD)
Do you see any reason why linux/XF86 should not work on one of these
machines? Is one of them really better (worse) than the others? Did I
miss _THE_ notebook for linux, and what is it? Well, any advice
welcome.
Thanks.
MC
