I purchased a Gateway Solo 9100 back in October, and I'm quite pleased
with it. Right now, I have Win98 (for DVD playing only... worst
operating system I've ever seen, had to wipe and reload it myself) and
two instances of WinNT server running on it. I haven't loaded up
Linux yet because I haven't found RedHat 5.2 (contains better notebook
support) on the shelves, but now that I have an Ethernet card and a
campus multi-T1 connection to the internet, I could just do an FTP
install.

The downside is that, so far, there is not a free X server that
supports the video chipset. You can buy the AccelleratedX(?) server,
which has support for the 9100's video chipset, for $170, I think.

I'll drop another e-mail here after I've gotten things up and running.
