  Hello,

  you may find a program for switching the fan on toshiba satellites,
at http://www.homeusers.prestel.co.uk/hex/technical.html. The author
does not know if it will work on a tecra, so it's at your own risk.
If it doesn't work, you may try doing as the author did, by examining
dos utilities provided by toshiba.
