I am wondering if anyone has found a solution to the following problem: To switch between the LCD display of the laptop and an external multisync monitor AND doing it in such a way as to NOT produce flicker. I am using the IBM TP600 with the Neomagic chipset (NM 2160) with the XFM drivers from Precision Insight/Redhat at 1024x768. I have found partial solutions such as: 1) enabling int_disp and ext_disp options in XF86Config which works except that the external 21" monitor flickers like crazy and is hell on my eyes (no matter which postion the Fn+F7 mode is set at). 2) To only enable the ext_disp option which lets me have a wonderful flicker free 80 Hz refresh rate external screen ....BUT NO LCD screen!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have heard commerical X servers support this kind of feature. Any comments? DS -- D.
