Hi there;
I tracked you down as the APM guy in the MAINTAINER
file for 2.2.0. Here's what *might* be a bug; I
hope it's note.
I've followed the bug-submission format suggested in
appendix b of the old kernel-list faq.
Thanks in advance,
JC.
[1]: APM code doesn't boot up on Toshiba Laptop BIOS
[2]: I've found that the 2.2.0 code for APM support does not
work on my Toshiba Satellite Pro 440CDX. After I
downloaded the 2.2.0 source and went through the whole
kernel-compile voodoo, I found that selecting the new
kernel would cause my computer to do a hard reboot.
After checking everything else I could think of - LILO,
rdev, the whole gig, I went for help and was advised
to try compiling different configurations.
Turning off the APM code in the 2.2.0 kernel made the
new vmlinuz image to boot normally. As an aside, the
BIOS on this machine tends to turn off the screen by
itself after enough inactivity. This has never had
any effect on the previous 2.0.36 kernel, and it has
not seemed to have effected the new kernel either.
