I am considering getting a Toshiba Tecra 8000 and have a few
questions:
1) Anyone using one (other than the reference on the laptop page)?
2) Can Linux use the DVD-ROM drive as a CD-ROM?
3) Can Linux use the DVD-ROM as a DVD-ROM (data disc)?
4) Any info on the internal modem?
5) Any gotchas? Concerns? Unsupported or flakey items?
6) Anyone using an internal ZIP in a T8000?
7) How well does X work on it (XF86 3.3.3 or later).
8) Any other recommendations for it (memory, disk, etc.)?
BTW, I have an internal zip in my Toshiba 700CT and LOVE IT.
It is so nice having 100MB of extra read/write space.....
I plan to put RedHat 5.2 on it when I finally get the machine.....
Thanks for the information and cheers,
