Installation help

I recently bought a refurbished Compaq Armada 4120 that I want to run
Linux on. I am trying to install RedHat 5.1, but I can't get the
installation program to recognize the external cdrom. The cdrom is a
TEAC 46E with a PCMIA interface. Does anyone have any suggestions on how
to get this drive recognized?
