Hi,
I have installed RH5.2 on a Toshiba 4010CDS. Everything is fine but the
Worldport PCMCIA V34 CE Data/fax. It seems to exist since :

But when I try to access the modem from, e.g., kermit and whether I set
line to /dev/ttyS1, or /dev/cua1 or /dev/modem (created through the
control-panel), kermit stops at the connect command and refuses any
keyboard input (including the escape sequence).
In addition,
1/ On a different machine (Sager P100 portable), Win3.11 runs the modem
perfectly.
2/ In this latter case, I can verify that the modem acknowledge the AT
commands (from which I infer that it is real modem! Am I right?)
3/ The NIC card in socket 1 (Toshiba) works ok.
4/ On the Toshiba, when I try to access the modem from W95 the reply is
that another application uses it (which is obviously false) and that I
must close this application first.
5/ Other addresses (ttyS? or com? depending on the OS) are not any
better.
Any suggestion about where to investigate from that point is wellcome.
