Hi all.

In my experience, if your hard disk is larger than 500 meg, then the
SAFEST way to install Linux is to allocate the first 6-15 meg of the
hard drive to be mounted as /boot with a swap partition following
that, and everything else after that...
My current laptop, a 486dx4/75 based system with 12M of RAM and a 4.3G
hard drive, follows this pattern: The first 2 cylinders are allocated
to /boot in hda1 (which thus occupies 8 meg), then a 120 meg swap
partition in hda2, then root in hda3, and hda4 is a standard extended
partition occupied by various other partitions...
Best wishes from Riley.

There is something frustrating about the quality and speed of Linux
development, ie., the quality is too high and the speed is too high,
in other words, I can implement this XXXX feature, but I bet someone
else has already done so and is just about to release their patch.
