Sorry I can't help with the SuperDisk as I've never used one, but

If your Xircom card is a CE II or CE-10BT then there is no support, check
the 
pcmcia-howto at
hyper.stanford.edu/HyperNews/get/pcmcia/home.html

your mouse is probably a ps/2, make sure you have gpm running and looking at
/dev/psaux

What is video chipset?

the Alsa main page mentioned by Matt is at

I remember doing an install of suse 6.1 and there was something about DVD
support
in there. Maybe someone else knows more.
