hm, maybe disable /etc/rc.d/init.d/xdm for a while try a manual startx ... then i d check: ls -al /usr/X11R6/bin/X does it point to the correct server is the correct server installed? (XF86_S3 something) also there a number of files in /etc/X11 from RH .. maybe the X install off this cd didnt really comply with the redhat layouts .. jodel.so -- 727646.499872208
