Hi. I am currently running a (slightly dated) Toshiba laptop with a 100Mhz
processor and 40 megs of RAM and a one-gig HD. I am currrently running windows
on this machine, but my first summer project is to install Linux. I had heard
some people saying they had trouble installing Linux on their laptop, and that
it was a problem that could have been fixed easily on a desktop machine. It had
to do with re-wiring the CD drive to another spot on the mother board. I was
wondering if anyone has had trouble installing linux that is laptop specific,
because i am also considering getting rid of this machine and buying/making a
desktop to suit my purpose especially since i don't really need the portability
much any more. Thanks
