I've also an HP 4150. To get apmd working you need to get the
latest BIOS upgrade from:
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpomnibook8365_swen.html
BIOS updates >=2.21 are ok (I reported this bug to HP in Feb, and
in early May they provided the fix).
For the sound there is only OSS from 4front as described by
Richard that works.
Please, complain to HP and NeoMagic for not opening up the sound
specs of the chip.
