Hi -
Is there a way to find out which processes are initiating disk accesses?
I've been using my laptop on the road more often recently and I want
be able to spin down the drive when it's not needed. I downloaded
hdparm to set the spindown time, but there are a lot of accesses going
on that wake up the drive often.
Is this update working? Can I restart update with parameters to only
write out the cache at longer intervals? Should I also disable all
swap space to minimize disk accesses?
I have a P133 IBM 560 running Debian 2.0.
Thanks,
- Justin
