Dear All,
Not so long ago I bought myself a laptop
"MyCom 930" with pentium II processor.
I have installed Slackware Linux 3.6 and as a
stand alone everything seems to work fine.
However, I cannot manage to connect to the
network.
I am using a Dynalink 10MBit NE2000 compatible
PCMCIA card, which should be recognized according
to the HOW-TO pages and other literature.
I once read that the MyCom 930 is compatible with
some models of Asus (if that would help).
I think there is a big chance that the problem
is in the configuration scripts.
I always have been a user of Unix and Linux and
do not really know much about setting up computers
for a network.
Also the HOW-TO pages are not very clear to me.
It would be nice if anyone could tell me what configuration
scripts are important, what their function is,
and how to configure them. And also, should there
be other configuration files (for instance files that
are used when networking via via other means than
a PCMCIA card) that possible have some higher
priority be deleted?
It would also be nice if I could get someexamples
of configured files for Asuses with Pentium II and
some comments, or if anyone is using a MyCom 930 .... ?
Regards,
Hans
