The swap partition can be removed by using the fdisk program shipped with redhat

you cannot remove it with the dos fdisk, but with the linux fdisk.

Restoring the master boot record can be done by using the dos fdisk:

        fdisk /mbr

This is an undocumented option, but a rather well known and working one, however
.
In order to be able to use dos fdisk, you are forced to boot into dos, e. g. by
using a dos boot disk (hope you have one).

By the way, what is your actual aim, anyway? Removing all the linux partitions,
or setting them up in just a different way, or restoring dos or...?
