Also, if you learn something that could improve the HOWTO remember to let the
author/maintainer know. Not all of the HOWTO authors really know that much
about what they're explaining and not all have english as a primary language,
so hints on what parts seem hard to understand can also be helpful, even if
you don't know how to make it more understandable.
