I have SuSe Linux 6.0 installed on my IBM Thinkpad 701c laptop I have
recompiled the kernel to 2.2 and I have got an adaptec Slim SCSI 1460
controller, this works fine for cd drives, but when I plug in my external
hdd the machine locks up. [to clarify when I plug the card in with an
external hdd attached the machine freezes after the first beep I have
tried several drives same problem, These drives work when plugged
externally into advansys PCI controller. Cardmgr version 3.0.1
Can anyone suggest a solution?
I brought the pcmcia scsi to plug into external drives, does this mean my
card/cable has a fault on/in it?
