Sounds about right - Atlas do cut quite a few corners to keep the cost down.

The same applies to ALL Silicon Motion drivers, not just Linux :-(  As I
said above, Atlas operate to a budget...

Oh well.

I've started trying to get more 'into' Linux.  I've had way too many years
of watching Micro$oft head the way of MacOS ("We can't think why you should
ever want to do that, therefore the system doesn't let you...").  I always
thought that computers were supposed to be OUR slaves, not vice-versa!

Anyway, thanks very much for your help - it was greatly appreciated.
