I got some cracking answers to this - thanks all! I think I shall
go
and have a look for books on Linux architecture soon. However, I
have a
follow up question - which is also sod-all to do with laptops
(nearly)...
I want to build a new kernel. I have the source and the patches and
know what to do with those. Where should I put the glibc files so
that
the compiler can find them though?
The reason that it is a bit to do with laptops is that I want to add
in
the APM bits. At the moment I am leaving the laptop on mains power
overnight else it is dead by morning. Anyone got any good
observations/suggestions on the APM front for me *before* I hit
problems?
Cheers,
Justin.
