Hi,
IIRC, the motherboard in my Compaq is made by TI/Acer (I haven't taken
it apart lately). There is also a replacement parts list that came with
it (the MB was on the list so they are available). Since you are looking
to build something that is wearable, perhaps you should reconsider how
much power you need. More power = more weight (batteries) or less time.
The pc/104 may be a good option with a low voltage 233 pentium (or
better, underclock it at 133). Perhaps even take a look at different
types of chips (StrongARM, M68K, etc.) also consider picking up an older
used laptop and hacking from there.
I'll stop there before I really go off on a tangent.
