Compaq 1800 Laptop Compatibility

Dear List

I am looking at buying the Compaq 1800 500mhz or 600mhz laptop and was
wondering if there are any hardware problems concerning Linux. Does the
internal Video, Network, and modem cards work with Linux.  I am currently
running Mandrake 7.0 on my desktop and would like to run it on the laptop.
Also, can anybody suggest some other laptops which I should consider looking
at.  I have researched Dell, Gateway, HP, and Compaq.
